Chester Baldwin, attorney and founder of Baldwin Legal Group

How Chester works

No intake staff and no call center. Chester takes your call, and every record review is done by Spencer Baldwin, a Washington attorney with ten years of experience. Two lawyers, one small office.

He explains your options in plain language, tells you up front whether you qualify, and quotes the fee before any work begins.

The office is at 123 Fir Street NE in Olympia, open Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with a 24-hour line for urgent matters.

Twenty years on every side of Washington law

Chester Baldwin has worked inside Washington's legal and political system for more than 20 years: as a prosecutor, a defense attorney, a lobbyist at the State Legislature, and an advisor to business owners. He founded Baldwin Legal Group, PLLC in Olympia to bring all of that experience to one practice.

In the courtroom

Chester began his legal career as a Rule-9 Prosecutor with the Thurston County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. Seeing how the State builds a case, from the traffic stop to the breath test, shapes how he defends one today. People facing a DUI work with him directly through Baldwin DUI Defense.

At the Capitol

Since 2009, Chester has represented associations, businesses, and nonprofits before the Washington State Legislature and state agencies. As principal of Lobby Washington, LLC, he drafts and reviews legislation, works with lawmakers in both parties and both chambers, and testifies before legislative committees. Much of his work centers on real estate and housing, including rental housing and manufactured housing communities, along with transportation, health care, and small business. His work on housing policy has drawn coverage from KUOW, Cascade PBS, Axios, and TVW; see Media.

In business

Before law school, Chester worked as a financial analyst and healthcare consultant for Mercer Human Resource Consulting. That background, along with degrees in finance, information systems, and environmental health, informs his business formation work through myLLC Attorneys, where Washington entrepreneurs get LLCs and corporations reviewed by an attorney from the start.

The result is a lawyer who understands the court that applies the law, the Legislature that writes it, and the businesses that live under it.
